Immerse yourself in the world of the Middle Ages with the “Passau Wolf” sword. This late medieval long sword impresses with its artistic design and excellent value for money. It is the perfect gift for medieval enthusiasts and sword collectors, as well as an ideal addition to your medieval garb.

It is inspired by an original sword that was auctioned at the Czerny international auction house in Italy. It owes its name to the wolf engraving on the blade, the so-called Passau Wolf. This symbol was the trademark of the Passau swordsmiths and is among the oldest and best-known blade marks, with origins dating back to the 14th century. Passau blades were considered first-class and were exported throughout Europe. The depiction of the wolf changed over the centuries, allowing the blades to be dated accordingly. The engraving of this reconstruction is based on the typical 14th century style.

The medieval sword features an approx. 91 cm long, double-edged blade that tapers evenly towards the tip. The edges are not sharpened. A fuller runs along about half of the blade length and is engraved with the Passau Wolf on both sides near the crossguard.

The hilt consists of a wooden grip wrapped in red leather, a straight steel crossguard with lozenge-shaped ends made of brass, and a large disc pommel. The pommel is decorated on both sides with inlaid brass crosses.

The two-handed sword is supplied with a red wood-and-leather scabbard featuring a brass chape and throat, both adorned with decorative fleur-de-lis motifs. The upper part of the scabbard is also embossed with a beautiful lily pattern, while the lower section features an interlaced pattern. The scabbard is complemented by a matching sword belt, allowing for simple and comfortable carrying.

This medieval sword is designed as a collectors or decoration/display piece and, besides its quality as a collectible, is also perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
