Black Wakizashi, Marto
Simple and elegant Wakizashi, whose fuchi (grip ferrule), kashira (grip cap), tsuba (stabbing blade), tsuka-ito (grip tape) and saya (scabbard) are held in a matt black. As a contrast the golden Habaki (blade clamp) emphasizes the high-quality impression of this samurai sword. A wonderful decoration sword from the exclusive collection "Oriental weapons" by Marto.
The Wakizashi, the weapon of the honorable men in feudal Japan, could also be worn by socially respected citizens, while the Katana remained reserved for the Samurai. The small sword was carried on the obi and was more advantageous in small space than the longsword. The short sword was also used for ritual suicide or to cut off the head of a killed enemy.
Katana and Wakizashi formed a pair of swords called Daisho.
